No doubt, this book will resonate with voters, especially, during this election year. Whether it's an individual seduced by corruption to obtain financial gain, or the use of coercion and intimidation to victimize others in order to exert power and control; people need to make a conscience effort in preventing any one person or group from gaining so much power as to become dangerous to the people they represent. It is obvious that the primary problem in politics stems from the entrenched one-party political machine. It has evolved into an incestuous breeding ground for corruption that continues to dominate and abuse the system. As illustrated in this book, like a cancer, corruption has no boundaries in politics. It manifests at all levels of government, infecting neighborhoods throughout the community, creating villains and victims. "Scoundrels" is a captivating book that will leave you fed up with the government strong-arm tactics, abuse of political power, malfeasance in office and unethical behavior motivated by a false sense of entitlement. This book demonstrates why it is so important to put an end to narcissistic leadership and personal agendas at the expense of others. "Scoundrels" is a red flag, signaling that it's time to return control of town government back to the people. It is a powerful teaching tool, too good to pass up!

This book might interest Rhode Islanders, since these are the scoundrels portrayed. Otherwise, it is descriptive of dishonesty in local politics which probably applies in other locales.
