It was pretty good.

This is a Step-Brother romance. Fox is hiding from an assassin group that he left, and Dani is a movie star with a career run by her father.
We get into the story after they are adults and we never see their initial courtship. I thought I’d miss that but I really didn’t.
This is the first step-brother romance I have read where the brother is not a total alpha mean guy (sarcasm, patronizing, in-your-face jerk with sexual innuendo) to his step-sister. No high-school teenage sex, either. Yay! (I am in my 50s and frankly I don’t like to read about sexually active high-schoolers that have multiples of screaming sex. But that’s just me. Let them be a little older please.)
The characters were pretty well written, although I don’t really know what Fox looked like except that he had a beard. Also, he seemed like such a nice guy that during some of the action scenes I had trouble picturing him as an assassin. Dani didn’t seem too interested in her movie career (her father pushed her in to it), and I was glad to see her take more control of her life and move past her comfort zone later when push came to shove. I liked that she wasn’t overly emotional and unreasonable (like when she met Fox’s former, umm, sex partner.) She seemed to have a level head on her shoulders.
The only odd part of the book for me was when, early in the book she said she had a driver’s license, but wasn’t sure where it was. Then later she made a spur of the moment trip from L.A. to Iowa on her own. I’m not sure how she got there because flying and renting a car both require a license or ID, and she didn’t have her own car. Maybe she borrowed one. Having to think about it took me out of the story for a minute.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book.

I was given this book for a fair and honest review.
I really enjoyed this book! It was different from your average book in this genre. While the characters were sizzled when they were together. There was so much more to this book. It was action, adventure, family drama, fun and romance rolled into 23 wonderful chapters.
Fox gets lured out of hiding when his step sister and love of his life (Dani) is threatened by an organization of assassins that he used to work for. He must save her before they get to her. He has to put all his specialty military training to use plus the help of a few people he can trust to protect her. It's not easy trying to hide the biggest star in Hollywood.
We all love the bad boy but Fox was so much more, surfacing again to save the love of his life he hasn't seen in 5 years even if he has to die himself. SWOON!
Dani the Hollywood "it" girl who looks like she has it all, but what lurks behind her seemingly perfect world? Is she happy? Does she still remember the man who kissed her 5 years ago and she never saw again?
The side characters (who I feel may be getting a book of their own, at least I hope they do) are fun and a great addition. Boxcar, journalist turned hacker, Caleb, army buddy turned to "pawn shop" owner and the lovable Mrs Clark, landlord and kick butt old lady!
Besides all the non stop action in this book (I could not put it down, read it in a day) the chemistry between Dani and Fox is off the charts. I don't just mean in the bedroom either. The banter they have with each other is almost as entertaining as the romance.
All in all this book was very entertaining. Were some of the scenes and scenarios far fetched ? Of course they were! What great action flick actually makes sense??? Where's the fun in that! If your looking for edge of your seat one minute, laughing the next, maybe a tear or two. Oh and a super hot ex military alpha male. Then this should be your next read!

To need protection protection from an underground agency that is so top secret that nobody knows about it besides the government and the president himself. And the only reason you get the protection from them is because of your dear Stepbrother who used to be a part of them. But the thing is your daddy doesn't believe him so when they come for you again your brother takes you away for your own safety but guess what now there's a kidnapping reports going around saying that your step brother kidnapped you.
Okay so first this book is really good. When I read the title thought it was going to be just like any other stepbrother romance book and would be where the girl needed a bodyguard and your father or mother hired your step brother because he was a retired S.E.A.L.
So when I read the first few chapters of this book I was so excited that it was not like that it gave me hope for this book.
Dani is a top-notch movie star and everybody wants to be her. All of the guys want to date her and every female envys her. Dani hasn't heard from Fox in two years where he was killed in action or so that's what the service said anyways. But when events happen it grabs his attention and he comes running to Dani's side.
This book is different him let me tell you it is a good difference.
So would I reread this book?! Yes most definitely I love their story!
Do I recommend this book? Absolutely. If you've never read a stepbrother romance book and you really don't want it heavy then this is the book for you. Dani and fox met when Dani was 15 years old I believe so it's not like they grew up together they've been attracted to each other since theyve met. And that was December 24th 2007.
