loved it! Fun, sexy, and suspenseful!

I loved, loved, loved this book! The combination of the small town's charm and suspense was so fun! The writing is excellent, and the mystery kept me flipping the pages. I want a bad boy Maddox for my own, even if he does have a bit of baggage. I couldn't put this book down, especially as the story felt so real. My heart broke for Josie while she dealt with her grandfather's illness. I was so glad she got her happy ending! 5 Stars!

Great book.... love Sosie's work!

I love Sosie's books and immediately downloaded this book when I receive her email saying it was live and finished it in a day... and this book was as great as the last two! I highly recommend this book and I can’t wait for more!!! I loved Maddox because he's different from most bad boys in books, because he wasn’t your typical "man-whore who sleeps with everyone around town and then meets the girl and drastically changes" guy. Don’t get me wrong those guys are fun too (think Jack Carson from Bad Boy's Baby) but....Maddox was the "I fell I love a long time ago before I left and I'm coming to get back what's mine, no matter what guy" and the first scene between Maddox and Josie proves he's that guy (loved that scene.. what a way to come home)!! I'm not sure how I feel about Josie, I think she was the perfect opposite for Maddox in this story but she didn’t make me want to be Team Josie. I'm not sure if it's how naïve she seemed, or how hypocritical on things she seems (I mean let’s get mad he because has a secret but you had two (one was implied a few times but not explained further which seemed disappointing!). But again she balanced out Maddox’s character well, in my opinion.

One of the things I enjoy most about Sosie's books, is that she does a great job telling stories with romance, heartbreak (I feel the pain at points) and suspense , but she includes a small element of something different that you don’t find a lot…diversity. Her characters are interracial couples, who aside from the story’s plot, face a small bit of adversity because of their relationship. And while the ethnicity of the characters doesn’t matter and is not the focal point, it may or may not linger with you in the back of your mind as you read the stories and as other characters are developed in the story. Then Sosie creates this small moment of reality, where your reminded that he’s an ivory king and she’s a mocha queen, and it’s still a tough thing for some people to see together and accept, but in the end love is color blind and it’s only love that matters!!! It’s a small moment in each of her books, that most may not recognize it or read much into it, but as a bi-racial reader, I love those small additions to the stories.

What an awesome romance!

I loved this story! This book is so different from the usual romantic suspenses out there. It has a bit of humor from the little town of Saint Christie, but a lot of darkness on the inside. I loved sweet Josie, but Maddox stole my heart. They both wanted to do the right thing and protect the other, but they just needed each other in the end! Great writing, awesome mystery, and ridiculously sexy love scenes. I highly recommend it!

Please, everyone, read this book before you vote!!!

A book that presents a fresh, honest outlook on our country!
This brave young woman really did her homework to find out the difference between what's been reported in the news and the actual news. She's then taken that knowledge to help the public gently question their beliefs in live interviews.
A must read, you'll love it!

Studs Terkel protege delivers hope - Yes We Can indeed

Red Highways was a gift for myself. I heard Ms. Aguilar on a radio interview and was hooked. It was like hearing a much younger, female version of Studs Terkel. Her observations about places like Mississippi were fascinating. I clicked and ordered the book that day.

The book was better than I hoped. The narrative was compelling; more than just a series of clever observations, Aguilar's journey inspires and outrages -- but most importantly, it engages. I could not put the book down, despite work and personal commitments that made that rather ... impractical.

I'm giving this book to several family and friends for the holidays. It provides real context to the Obama success and real hope that the Red/Blue schism may indeed be, at minimum, made less wide and less absolute.

READ THIS BOOK -- it's good for what ails you and US.

And with Studs Terkel's death, it's truly uplifting that he left behind not just his work, but protege's like Rose Aguilar to carry on.

A United States You Won't See on TV

Once I got going, I couldn't put this book down. I grew up in a family that was politically mixed, so the diverse range of political viewpoints was familiar to me. What was not familiar was a side of America that I've only seen in old movies - places where racism still divides and hatred or fear overrule what's best for the common good.

Many of the stories in this book are delightful. You get to meet an environmentalist Republican and an anti-choice Democrat, proving that here in America, we've got it all. Also interesting is the recurring theme of joblessness and poverty taking hold of small town America over four years ago, a dark foreshadowing to the economic crises we are facing today.

No matter what your political views are, where you live, or who you voted for, this book will connect you with a United States that you didn't know existed. Sometimes it takes an adventurous reporter traversing reality to bring us the truth about where we live and who we live with.

From the Author
I actually wrote this book in the late 1980's while working full time at the television station and adjusting to being a first time father. The research took a lot longer than I thought and was part of the reason I was delayed in trying to sell it. The timing wasn't right at the time since several other books on the subject had already been published. But now, more than 30 years later, the content is relevant to the mission of truth in journalism.

About the Author
Tom is a Philadelphia native whose 30 year career as a journalist started at Central High School (class 231) the day John Roberts, a legendary TV anchorman, came to a career day. His stint at WCAU in the 1980's took him to a number of American cities, Israel and Chile. But the most important story he was involved in covering in Philadelphia was the 1985 MOVE disaster. Today, Tom is Communications Director for a senior living company and a communications consultant for two local municipalities in New Jersey where he resides. He also serves as an elected Councilman in his town.

Great read of what really happened during the MOVE siege from a Philly-born journalist

I first read this book after it was written in the 80's. It hasn't lost any of its punch 25 years later. Kranz writes with an immediacy and impact only possible by someone on the ground when the bullets began to fly. A great read.

Tom Kranz guides the reader through two compelling dramas - the unfolding of events on Osage Ave. leading to and including that tragic weekend in May 1985, and the skilled and passionate TV journalism that gave the story to Philadelphians. Recommended to anyone interested in this chapter of Philadelphia history.

I just finished reading Tom's book. Tom wrote an amazing first-hand account of one of the biggest news stories to ever happen in Philadelphia. I was working in the newsroom as the assignment editor that night. Tom did an incredible job telling the story of Move and how a great team in the field and in the newsroom covered the story!

The State as jealous lover

The radicality of revolution is found in true love – and vice versa. To be a revolutionary is to be a romantic, and the whole revolution must be grounded in love. These are the unusual premises Horvat poses in The Radicality of Love. He takes us on a whirlwind tour of revolutions in Iran, the USSR, Cuba, and Cambodia to prove the points. He is not the first. Engels said “With every great revolutionary movement the question of free love comes in to the foreground.”

The irony is that while revolutionaries are passionate about love, their movements are all about controlling and suppressing it. The Soviets tried to abolish it in favor of communal living. The Khmer Rouge instituted forced, loveless marriages to ruin it. The Iranians suppressed women to the point of making them unknowable and unappealing. Love was a distraction; everyone’s focus had to be 100% on the state. State before family, state before love, and no energy wasted on such distractions from the holy State. That could include drink, song, dance, stage and screen – anything that could lead to people hooking up and thinking of someone else.

The meat of the book covers Lenin and Guevara, who were both hugely conflicted over love. While they recognized the power of love in a revolution, they also resented it as minimizing the potential to hate (Guevara) or the power to maintain the revolutionary zeal (Lenin). To Lenin, love was a slippery slope.

The final chapter ties it all together cogently and completely. The true radicality of love is the ability to do justice to both revolution and spouse. No mean feat, as exemplified by Che Guevara’s utter devotion to both his family that he shielded, and the revolution, for which he had no problem dying, under the “loving caress” of bullets.

The book is a remarkable accomplishment: thorough and convincing in a rapidly moving, spare 164 pages. It instructs us to look at political movements and their agents differently going forward. It is a pleasure to be able to come at such a radical approach and be converted by it so effectively and efficiently. Had this book been written by anyone else, it would surely have been 600 pages and less convincing.

It’s not hard to extrapolate from this to see how ISIS recruits the disaffected, bored, petty criminals of the underemployed and discriminated. Their revolution is pure and focused and gives its adherents a rush of adrenaline unavailable anywhere else in a loveless life. Forget facebook recruiting; revolution is a lifeforce attraction.

Love his points of view on the changes needed in America

This is a short analysis of the original book Crippled America by Donald Trump . This instaread covers the key takeaways in which are stated as

* wealth in natural resources is the way to energy independence.
* overhaul America infrastructure....
which ideally is what we all need. The only area of the book I did not agree with 100% was the common core in schools. I do believe in the no child left behind law and feel it is very important to keep in place. However I also feel that we do need some sort of competition placed back into the school system. As it stands the school age children and young adults of this generation are being pampered, instead of being prepared for real life. Over all I found it to be a interesting read. One that was easy to follow and agree with. Although I received this item at a free and or a discounted rate in exchange for an honest review, it does not change my opinion on product.

Media personality and real estate mogul Donald Trump, now a contender for the GOP 2016 presidential nod, seems to be forever in the news. Pundits and commentators have much to say about him. In Crippled America: How to Make American Great Again a reader can get a sense of Trump through his own words. This outstanding Instaread summary gives the key points of Trump’s book and an analysis of his style. It lists the things he thinks need to be done to make America ‘great,’ including building a wall between the US and Mexico and forcing Mexico to pay for it, or using American economic power to force others to do our will. While one or two of his proposals make sense; rehabilitating our crumbling infrastructure and improving the education system; the specifics of how he would achieve it (attract smart people to his administration and let them work it out) merely betrays his utter lack of understanding of how the political system works. One wonders, given that some of his proposals seem to counter each other (for example, cutting taxes while increasing defense spending), how he managed to be as successful as he has in business. Then, the summary points out that he makes little or no mention of his business failures or problems in the book.
Thanks to Instaread for providing this inside look at a book that many people might have been tempted to buy simply because of the author’s name recognition. After reading this they can at least make an informed decision.

I was pretty disappointed with this book

I was pretty disappointed with this book. It was boring, as if written by a bureaucrat. I am interested in the topic but I was swimming in acronyms and bureaucratese. The European Union is an exciting subject, one of the most important of our age. This book just made it seem dull. Still, glad I read it, kind of like doing required reading for a required course. It did have information.

Wikipedia explains better

I read 1/5 of the book and couldn't understand very well how the system works. Wikipedia explained much better. Sentences are long with too many general phrases like: 'increasingly significant', 'remain much more important', 'EU has to find its place'. I expected this book to be straight to the point explanation and not some general thoughts. If you are looking for an overview, search web.

I love reading rosaries of Mother Maria

I love reading rosaries of Mother Maria. It has been part of my everyday spiritual work for over 6 years. I definitely feel her presence during reading the rosaries like she is just next to me. Pretty often I feel a desire to read a particular rosariy according to my inner processes at the particular day, and I feel like every word helps me to rise my conciseness, change my mind and feeling, uprise them to the higher level, above the situation. But mostly I read rosaries because I just feel desire to give to Mather Mary love of my heart and the energy of my pray. And at the same time it's always a very sweet moment for my soul, giving it peace, goodness and tranquility.

I would highly recommend this book to people who practice everyday spiritual work, as unforgettable and vital experience for their souls.

Я люблю читать розарии Матери Марии. Это является частью моей каждодневной духовной работы уже более 6 лет. Я несомненно чувствую её присутствие во время чтения розариев, как будто она находится рядом со мной. Очень часто я чувствую желание читать определенный розарий в соответствии с моими внутренними процессами в данный день. И я чувствую как каждое слово помогает мне возвысить моё сознание, изменить мои мысли и чувства, возвысить их на более высокий уровень, над ситуацией. Но в основном я читаю розарии потому что просто чувствую желание дать Матери Марии любовь моего сердца и энергию моей молитвы, просто пережить снова и снова эти сладкие минуты общения с ней, приносящие моей душе необходимый покой, благость и радость.

Я бы очень рекомендовала эту книгу для людей кто практикует ежедневную духовную практику как незабываемый и жизненно важный опыт для души.

In each Rosary she as hour caring Mother give us so many valuable recommendation about our life, and surely if you read rosaries each day it will change your life. I know many people whom this Rosaries helped to fix problems with their families, colleagues, Some people got recovery from illness. This is really miracle
