Solid Information Poorly Formatted

This is a solid textbook appropriate for an upper-level course in mass communication theory. DeFleur has been around a long time and knows his stuff. His presentations of individual theories emphasize their logical structure and interconnectedness, and the short chapters make for easy course organization. I have two complaints: DeFleur is wordier than he need be and the book's dense wide pages make for an imposing read. On the whole, though, this book offers credible competition for McQuail and for Baran and Davis, the other standard texts in the field. I am using it this semester and will continue to do so.[...]

The book arrived timely and in okay condition. Throughout the book there are numerous underlinings, highlights, and notes. Typically this wouldn't bother me as much except for the fact that the notes written in the book consist of, "I hate this class", "This class = death", "This book is stupid", etc. Either way, I need it for my class and it gets the job done since I saved money on this book so I am okay with it.
