The book that will make you take the great leap forward creating the job you want!

Caroline Greene is a genius! She truly understands moms who dream of finding that "perfect" solution to having it all. Spoiler alert, she does so by explaining how there is actually no perfect solution but rather seeking out and moving forward with what works best for you and your family as being the real key to happiness and success. It is so refreshing to read a well-written, insightful, and honest book about creating the life you want that serves you and your family best. NEXT is a fun read that makes you feel like you have your very own personal coach and friend in Caroline. So many books in this genre claim to provide the secret recipe to gain success and chart your own path. Caroline Greene is straight forward and clear in her advice and coaching, it's hard, you will make many mistakes, but most importantly, you need to get out of your own way. She asks very specific and simple questions to gauge where you are on your path and focus on what you value most. The tools Caroline presents guide the reader to create a unique path forward that will best serve them and their family. Caroline is on the same path and generously shares her challenges along the way with a healthy dose of humor. I am so inspired and I truly believe that every mom who has that feeling inside where they know they want to make a change that serves their passion and family best must read this book. You will enjoy every page.

Clear, easy read with immediately implementable steps

NEXT is a clear, easy read that guides you through the process of visioning and then enacting your own business or other transformation in life. "I hope you dare to love more deeply, live more freely, and serve more effectively than you ever thought possible. And I hope that in doing so, you become even more of who you truly are. For yourself. For your family. For every person you're meant to love and serve."
I picked this up because I liked Caroline's previous book and am always looking for how to strengthen my own life. I don't have my own business - and I don't really want one! - but I still found the book useful and interesting.
To use the book as intended, you'll need a business idea. Not a plan or something already started, but at least an idea. Without that, it's still useful, but won't help you grow a business. However, as I don't want a business, I still found this an interesting book on self-definition and clarity. I intend to revisit this as a "be a whole person" guide, rather than a business guide.
Although the book is written for anyone, it is female- and parent-focused in examples. This is a by-product of who Caroline has worked with and her primary audience. I think the book could certainly be applicable to anyone, but it may be slightly off-putting to those who aren't female and/or in a "traditional" family setting. Again, I don't think there's anything in the book that isn't fully applicable, but it is something to be aware of - if only so that you aren't startled by it and miss the key content.
In summary: read the book. It's quick and easy to read, and will give you lots to think about!!

Starting Your Business on the Right Foot

This is a must-read book for moms who are contemplating or who are already in the process of starting a business. Caroline Greene’s writing is clear, concise, engaging, and honest. She provides simple, effective guidelines that I think get to the heart of starting a small business, literally, by checking in with your heart about your primary motivation and your secondary motivations for why you want to have this business and who you are serving with the product or service you’re selling. She also addresses what holds many potential “mompreneurs” back, such as the fear of selling, and of course, fear of failure, and she coaches you with a positive and encouraging voice on how to move past those fears.
The author’s insights hit home and her approach makes so much sense, especially for moms who have so many competing demands on their time and a number of reasons they may want to start a business. Caroline Greene knows her audience well, targeting her advice to the well-educated mother who has high expectations of herself and who may be re-evaluating her career goals and priorities following becoming a mom. The book allows you to think and plan from a very personal perspective, and it resonates that for true success and fulfillment, one has to be authentically motivated by one’s business and the problem the product or service solves for one’s clients. I also enjoyed the author's voice throughout the book. It is like having a friend talk you through this process with encouragement, honesty, some humor, and a lot of wisdom.
