Good, but don't smirk so often

This is a well-written and fast-paced romantic thriller with an interesting plot that is not a cookie cutter version of some other book or movie. I found the characters quite interesting. One critique: The main male character "smirks" far to much and the main female lead "squeaks" too often. The author uses those descriptions, especially references to smirking, so often that it becomes distracting. There are other words that can convey the same look or attitude, and I suggest using some kind of editing technique to make sure individual descriptive words, even verbs, are not overused. Despite that flaw, I still the consider the writing quality to be quite good. I'll likely read more by this author.

The bad boy gets taken down by the vet!

I didn't know what to think about this bout at first, but this was from an author that I really liked so I went ahead and got it. I'm so glad I did. Because of course she didn't let me down once again. Right off it had action and crime. Hot guys and then There was Tobin, the one who was down on her luck. Who had just caught a man trying to sneak out after sleeping with her. Then her father has a heart attack. But that's not even the worse thing to happen, she gets abducted from the parking garage when she was leaving her father at the hospital. They thought she was a doctor. She just knew her life was over. She had seen two of there faces. She did the best she could, añd then the one with the gun and the green eyes kissed her and she kneed him. He didn't kill her or even hit her. She just finished patching up the boy who bad been shot. Then she knew be was going to kill her no matter what he told her. But he didn't, he fired the gun to make it sound like he did and then put the bag back over her head and made sure to let her know that he knew hér name añd everything about her. Then he took her home.
Tobin waited until she knew be was long gone before she got out of her car. Then she tried to make it into her apartment, but she just couldn't do it. The people that knew what happened was the police and her best friend Kate and a few others. She couldn't go back to her apartment. But her frieñds wouldn't let her stay cooped up. Then she ran into him at a club añd he kissed her and made her admit to him that she liked it. She could have called the police but she didn't. Sebastian was watching her. But not because of what you think, he was watching her because he wañted her. Then she weñt out with her father's doctor and he showed up there too. She just wañted one night that she could enjoy herself and not think about him. When she confronted him all he said was give me one night. Tobin gave in. After the date was over with Kevin she left to go home and she didn't know what she was thinking. But once they was in her apartment it was go late to do anything about it even if she wanted to. She wanted this añd she didñt know why. He made hér feel like no one ever did before, but that didn't mean that he was going to stay. She couldn't seem to get him to leave, but she really wasn't trying that hard. Then they started talking añd learning about each other. Then Capozzi found out from Jesse that Tobin was still alive, añd Sebastian tried to tell him that he would deal with it. Capozzi had already ordered the hit. That's the day that Tobin lost her best friend and business partner Kate. Capozzi had them use Sebastian gun to do the job so it looked like the same person killed the jewelry store guy and Kate. Tobin knew that Sebastian didn't shoot Kate, but she was having a hard time. He convinced her that he could protect her better than the police. She knew he could. These two people should never have been together, but sometimes strange things happen and it doesn't make sense. But he promised to protect her and to get them out of this mess so they could be together, and she believed him. He told that he had a plan to bring Capozzi down. He just needed some time. She had promised him a date and he wanted it. He wanted them to act like a normal couple. He wanted to be her boyfriend. The more he told her about Capozzi, the more she didn't like him. She seen the good in Sebastian. While on their date things weñt bad, and they got taken by Capozzi gang. She hadn't heard or seen Sebastian for a while. When she did, she freaked out. He looked bad, and that made her hate Capozzi even more. He told her would get her out of this and just to trust him. She was having a hard time. When Jesse came in to help them Capozzi found out and the only thing to buy them some time was to shoot Jesse but Tobin didn't know that he wasn't going to kill him. After Capozzi and his gang left Sebastian got free and then Tobin free. He told her that he loved her and she needed to get Jesse to the hospital after he got them out and then get the police and get them to come here ASAP. She ask him to come with them that she loved him and wants him to live. He said that he will try and live and come home to her. But she's got to go for him. They got away because of Sebastian, and then he took the rest of them down. He knew that be had to protect Tobin.
Tobin moved into a house because she just couldn't deal living in the apartment. The memories, the reporters and the dectives always asking her where he was. That was three months and she still hasn't heard anything from him. She was worried and she didn't think he was dead. Then their was a knock at her door. Sebastian stood there and looked rough but he was alive. She was happy, but afraid. She told him that he had a lot to make up for and he promised always to come home to her. This story just proves that love does conquer all. Ella Slade does it again.

Never thought I'd love this premise

I never thought I'd love a book with this premise, but it was so complex that it drew me in. And even though the MC is WAY more than just a "bad" boy, the logic for his actions and his redeeming qualities made up for it in the end. The author is a very talented writer and I love the way she spins a story.
