I couldn't put it down - so good.

The 2nd book in Cindi Madsen's hockey series was just as good as the first! After being played again and again, Whitney's giving up on men, but she didn't count on Hudson. Between their chemistry and their fun back and forth, I could definitely see why he tested her resolve. This book had a lot of funny moments and Hudson and Whitney's interactions just got better and better. I was happy to see Lyla and Beck again, and I loved the friendship between Whitney and Lyla. The ending totally left me with a smile on my face and I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Whitney Porter is turning over a new leaf, one that does not involve men, she is recuperating from a broken heart and has had it with players. She figures the best way to protect her heart is to take a long break from dating and focus on her career and college courses. She has longed to be a successful journalist and so when the opportunity to write a sports expose presents itself, she is all to eager to sign up for the job, even if it means surrounding herself the very players she has sworn off. She knows that it is going to be challenging to work alongside all these gorgeous and tempting men, but knowing that they are all just like the last man that left her with a broken heart makes them pretty easy to resist. That is until she meets a certain handsome tattooed hockey player that likes to test her patience and her resolve...
Hudson Decker is a smooth talking, handsome hockey player that has never had a problem lining up the ladies, to share his bed for the night. But news from home currently has him distracted and in a rut, so his roommate Dane devises the perfect plan to get him out of his bad mood and back to his carefree and wild ways. Dane knows that Hudson isn't one to back down from a challenge, so he bets Hudson that he can't find a way lure the new feisty sports reporter into his bed. Hudson figures a little smooth talking is all he needs to do and he'll have her weak in the knees and ready to jump in his bed, only she surprises him by turning him down flat. Now Hudson must find a way to win her over or his prize possession jersey will be hanging on his roommates wall...and he'll be left fending off jokes from his teammates.
This was my first experience with Ms. Madsen's work and I have to say that her writing totally won me over, I absolutely loved every minute I spend reading Hudson and Whitney's story. It grabbed my attention from the very beginning and held on tight until the last page was turned. I love a good enemies to lovers story and this one is definitely one of the best I have read in quite a while, Ms. Madsen definitely knows her hockey players and how to give readers one very satisfying literary escape!! Highly recommend you meet Hudson, he is sure win your heart and have you looking at hockey players in a whole new light!!

A wonderful read!

Where do I even start with how amazing and enjoying this read was? I loved it!!! It reminded me a bit of The Friend Zone (Game on #2) and that's one of my favourite books, ever! So, I think it's safe to say that this book is really good.
I was so relieved when I saw that the book is told by both, Whitney and Hudson. You get both their thought, feelings and you can definitely better understand why they say or do things that they do. I'm not sure I would believe Hudson's feelings for Whitney, had there not been the double POV. What I also enjoyed about this book is that it has it's funny moments.
The secondary characters were quite likable and I loved that they didn't 'steal' the couples limelight. This book is mainly about the couple and not about thousand other things, like in some other books that I've read. I loved that, since I could really connect to them and their story.
I know some of you might be thinking 'Oh, another story where the jock makes a bet and still gets the girl.' Well...you'd be thinking correctly. But what you're probably wrong about is thinking that Hudson had it easy. Oh no, there was nothing easy about getting the hot new reporter girl. He really had to bust his a** to get her and the hardest part was how to make her stay. Because let's face it, the boy was falling hard and fast! And you know another thing, I freaking loved it! ;)
These two could really get at each others throats but they also had their sweet moments that made me love them even more. There were times where I wondered how their secrets affected their relationship and how would they come out of this big mess unscathed. Both had so much guilt over what they were really doing, especially Hudson.
Speaking of wants, more than anything I wanted to forget the stupid bet existed in the first place. For the most part, I did, because when I was with Whitney it was the last thing on my mind. Every time I thought about it, though, self-loathing climbed up and sat on my chest. I never should’ve made that stupid bet.
In the end, those two had to face their decisions and mistakes and hope it wasn't too late to save what they've build. There was heartbreak, betrayal, forgiveness and love that made your heart beat just a little faster.
All in all, a wonderful read!
