This book is clearly written, intelligent, and significant--three characteristics which distinguish it from most academic philosophy written these days. If taking on the selfish gene people is a bit like shooting fish in a barrel, it's also the case that their highly distorted account of human identity is widely believed. In a short, effective, and accessible book, the writer takes their position apart.
I'm an academic philosopher myself, and found this book useful and admirable. If you have any interest in the topic, give it a look.
