He obtained his Master of Science degree in IT/ CIS from Quinnipiac University and is working towards graduating from Harvard Business School’s OPM program in the Spring of 2016. He also serves as the chairman of the board for the Employers Council on Flexible Compensation (ECFC), the industry’s leading nonprofit organization dedicated to the advocacy, education, advancement, and innovation of tax-advantaged benefit programs. William currently is the CEO of Ameriflex, a Healthcare-focused payment processing company. He is married and has two young children.

This Book'll Get You Thinking

William Short has written the book that I only dreamed of writing. I bought the book because I've preceded him as a conference speaker - not because of the title, which gave me no clue as to the contents. I won't spoil the contents or spill the beans on the meaning of the title. Simply put, if you're interested in society or human behavior or societal organization or the role of government or the rule of law, you'll find this book fascinating. If you're drawn to the cover illustration because you like pretty pictures of flowers and think you're going to get tips on gardening, this book isn't for you. . . The book screams for a stronger editing effort, but it's readable and penetrating.

Mr. Short makes entertaining use of everyday analogies to illustrate and examine our fundamental political, social and economic beliefs. It is an easy read and this will tempt you to read the book too quickly. Instead, allow yourself to linger and think deeply about each chapter’s underlying concepts. To what extent do you agree or disagree with the basic premise and supporting arguments? Why? If you find that you disagree, test whether your arguments are equally cogent.

I highly recommend this book for all ages

I going to require all of my college aged children to read this enjoyable explanation of how the world really works. Mr. Short has done an impressive amount of research in supporting each of his points, and I look forward to having my children compare what they read in 127 Grains versus what they have been taught by our education system. I highly recommend this book for all ages.
