This is an uninterrupted work. I have restricted myself to what Gita says. The earlier translations are from great men like Swami Yogananda, Shri Prabhupad, Dr. Radhakrishnan who have added their comments. One shloka of Gita can be explained in many pages. I have limited myself to Gita. One has to experience this work in original. Number of pages or the price do not help in assessing the book. It is the content that matters

Good Version for Beginners

An interesting interpretation of the Gita suitable for all denominations. Better than the Hare Krishna free copy I was given because it does not attempt to convert people to the Hare Krishna religion. This one emphasizes the spiritual side more than organised religion. Good basic translation for beginners who are interested in the Gita, but don't want to join the Hare Krishna movement.

The book translation about Bhagvad Gita - provides a good interpretation and insight into ideologies behind Gita and also the practice of yoga.
It provides a deeper appreciation of the practice of yoga and how it can contribute to better perspective on the different qualities in people and how to make a positive difference.
Some quotes that stood out from the book was “One whose mind is not settled, does not know about the soul, and does not have the sense that he is the eternal being, does not obtain peace of mind, and how can one be happy without peace of mind?”
This is relevant in highlighting the importance of reaching inner peace, tranquillity and calmness for the mind.
“One who is meditating, sitting in a secluded place, controlling both body and mind, has no thirst, and has not stored anything, should always keep his mind calm and settled.”
"Anger creates irrationality. Irrationality breeds loss of memory, Control your organs with a conscious mind; courageously merge your mind with your soul at a steady pace. Don’t think of anything else. The mind is very difficult to control so avoid subjects like words and control. This state is called conquering oneself.”
Both are also great quotes to provide suggestions on keeping our mind calm and clear through recommendations within the book.
The book is easy to follow as it is separated into eighteen distinct chapters. For the stand out chapters of the book was ‘The yoga of equality’, ‘The yoga of action’ and ‘Yoga of Practice’.

Nice cover, poor content

I've read two other translations of the Gita and this doesn't hold up. I was drawn in by a very nice cover. Classic mistake! Never judge a book by the cover right? I'd recommend the edition from Eknath Easwaran which reads much smoother and is half the price here on Amazon.
