Emotions we can all emphasise with

I really enjoyed this book and many others would too because it stokes emotions within us that we have all experienced and can emphasise with.
Dave bumps into his first love, Denise, in a supermarket 20 years after they split up. Feelings are reignited. Despite transforming from a hippy into a successful Republican voting businesswoman she still remains the most compelling, exciting woman he’s ever met and he realizes he’s not moved on, despite the passage of time. Memories of Woodstock and other happy events are stoked. The problem is Denise is now happily married with a daughter. She has all she needs from life. But is it enough? Will they be able to put the past behind them and just stay friends or will they try to rekindle all they’ve lost? They both wonder what their lives would have been like had they stayed together. Vietnam and Princeton tore them apart 20 years ago. Through the story we learn about the terrible consequences Vietnam had on relationships and families and this theme is brought to life.
This story is essentially about nostalgia and the intense feelings surrounding first love and how we come to terms with loss and move on. Does first love ever die?
Dave remembers getting stuck in mud at Woodstock and the music and the effects of drugs, the intense passion of good sex with Denise.

This was a good read, lots of good sex and I enjoyed reading the well written book. I will be reading more of Mr. Leggs books.
